If you cannot log in to Instagram through Osortoo, the issue usually comes from account type, missing permissions, or an incorrect Facebook link. Instagram requires specific conditions to allow comment collection.
You can follow the steps below to fix the login problem.
1. Your Instagram account must be Professional
Osortoo cannot connect to personal Instagram accounts.
Your account must be:
- Business or
- Creator
To check this:
- Open Instagram
- Go to Settings
- Open Account
- Look for Switch to Professional Account
If you see this option, your account is currently personal.
2. Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page
Instagram’s API requires a Facebook Page connection.
Without this link, Osortoo cannot access your posts or comments.
To check the link:
- Go to instagram.com or the mobile app
- Open Settings → Account → Sharing to other apps
- Select Facebook
- Make sure it is linked to a valid Facebook Page
Do not link it to your personal Facebook profile.
It must link to a Page where you have Admin rights.
3. You may not have granted all permissions
If some permissions were skipped or removed, the Instagram login will fail.
To reset permissions:
- Go to facebook.com/settings
- Open Business Integrations
- Remove Osortoo
- Return to Osortoo
- Log in again and accept all permissions
This is the most common fix.
4. You are not an Admin of the Facebook Page
Instagram authentication depends on Page roles.
You must be Admin of the Page linked to your Instagram account.
To verify:
- Open your Facebook Page
- Go to Settings → Page Roles
- Confirm your role is Admin
Other roles such as Editor or Moderator are not enough.
5. The Instagram post is not eligible
Osortoo can only collect comments from:
- public posts
- feed posts (not stories)
If the post is private, restricted, or a story, Instagram will block the connection.
6. Your Facebook or Instagram session expired
Try logging out and logging back in:
- Log out of Instagram
- Log out of Facebook
- Close your browser
- Reopen the browser and log in again
- Try connecting Osortoo
7. Browser settings may block the login
Instagram authentication uses Facebook login windows.
Make sure your browser allows:
- cookies
- pop-ups
- third-party scripts
Disable any extensions that block logins:
- ad blockers
- privacy shields
- VPN extensions
Try using an incognito window or another browser.
8. Instagram may have a temporary API issue
Instagram sometimes limits or delays external connections.
If everything is correct on your side, try again after a few minutes.
