To run Instagram giveaways with Osortoo, your Instagram professional account must be linked to a Facebook Page. This link allows Facebook’s system to authorize Osortoo to access your posts and comments.
If the link is missing or set incorrectly, Instagram login issues and empty post lists will occur.
Follow the steps below to link your accounts correctly.
1. Make sure your Instagram account is Professional
Instagram must be a Business or Creator account.
To check your account type:
- Open the Instagram app
- Go to Settings
- Select Account
- Look for Switch to Professional Account
If you see this option, your account is still personal.
Switch to a Professional account before continuing.
2. Connect Instagram to a Facebook Page (not your personal profile)
The link must point to a Facebook Page, not a personal Facebook profile.
Osortoo cannot access Instagram posts through a personal profile.
To link your accounts:
- Open the Instagram app
- Go to Settings
- Select Account
- Tap Sharing to Other Apps
- Choose Facebook
- Select a Facebook Page that you manage as an Admin
If you only see your personal profile, you must first create or access a Facebook Page.
3. Verify that you are an Admin of the Facebook Page
Only Page Admins can authorize access to Instagram data.
Check your role:
- Go to your Facebook Page
- Open Settings
- Go to Page Roles
- Confirm that your profile is Admin
If you are not an Admin, the Page owner must update your role.
4. Verify the link from the Facebook side
After linking from Instagram, make sure Facebook recognizes the connection.
To verify the link:
- Open Facebook
- Go to your Facebook Page
- Click Settings
- Open Linked Accounts or Instagram
- Check that your Instagram account appears as connected
If the Instagram account does not appear, reconnect it from Facebook.
5. Reset the link if needed (recommended when Fixing Issues)
If the connection is old, broken, or incomplete, reset it:
On Instagram:
- Go to Settings → Account → Sharing to Other Apps
- Disconnect Facebook
- Close the app
- Reconnect Facebook
- Select the correct Page
On Facebook:
- Go to your Facebook Page
- Open Settings → Linked Accounts → Instagram
- Disconnect Instagram
- Reconnect it
A clean reset ensures the link is active and recognized by both platforms.
6. Grant all required permissions
Osortoo needs full permission to access your Instagram posts and comments.
To refresh permissions:
- Go to facebook.com/settings
- Click Business Integrations
- Find Osortoo
- Remove it
- Return to Osortoo and reconnect
- Accept all requested permissions
(Pages, Instagram accounts, content access, etc.)
Skipping any permission may cause missing posts or login failures.
7. Reconnect in Osortoo in the correct order
Osortoo will show:
- A list of Facebook Pages
- Then the Instagram accounts linked to each Page
To connect properly:
- Select the Facebook Page that is linked to your Instagram
- Then select the Instagram account associated with that Page
If you skip the Page selection, Instagram will not appear.
8. Ensure your posts are eligible
Osortoo can load:
- public Instagram feed posts
- carousels
- images
- videos
Osortoo cannot load:
- stories
- private posts
- posts with restrictions (age/country)
- some Reels
- deleted or archived posts
Make sure your giveaway post meets the requirements.
