Giveaway Stuck “In Progress”

A giveaway may stay stuck on “In Progress” when Osortoo cannot finish loading comments or complete the drawing process. This usually comes from platform API delays, browser issues, or incomplete imports.
The sections below explain all possible causes and how to fix them.

1. The platform is still loading comments

Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube may need more time to send the full comment list.
Large giveaways or heavy activity can slow down the import.

How to fix

  • wait a few minutes
  • refresh the page
  • re-open the giveaway

The giveaway often completes once the platform finishes sending data.

2. Instagram or Facebook connection expired

Your social media connection may have expired or lost permissions.

How to fix

  1. Go to Facebook → Settings → Business Integrations
  2. Remove Osortoo
  3. Return to Osortoo and reconnect your account
  4. Re-open your giveaway

A fresh connection usually removes the “In Progress” status.

3. Your post link was not selected correctly

If the wrong post was imported or the post was changed, the system may get stuck.

How to fix

  • close the giveaway
  • start a new project
  • select the correct post again
  • re-import comments

4. Browser extensions are blocking the process

Extensions such as ad blockers, VPNs, or script blockers may interrupt the loading sequence.

How to fix

Disable:

  • AdBlock / uBlock
  • VPN
  • privacy extensions
  • cookie blockers

Then refresh the giveaway.

5. Browser session or cache is corrupted

A corrupted session can cause the giveaway to freeze.

How to fix

  • refresh the page
  • clear your browser cache
  • try incognito mode
  • try another browser

If it works in incognito mode, the issue comes from cached data.

6. Platform API limits or delays

Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube sometimes delay responses, especially during high traffic.
These delays can freeze the giveaway during the import.

What to do

Wait a few minutes and refresh.
The system usually resumes automatically.

7. The post has restricted or hidden comments

If comments are filtered or hidden on the platform, Osortoo may struggle to finalize the list.

Examples:

  • restricted users
  • filtered comments
  • comments “under review”
  • replies not accessible

Importing the available comments again may fix the issue.

8. You imported too many comments without filters

Very large giveaways (thousands of comments) may take longer to process.

How to fix

  • apply filters (duplicates, keywords, etc.)
  • refresh the page
  • try again

Filtering reduces the load and helps complete the import.

9. Server-side temporary delay

Occasional delays can occur on Osortoo’s side during peak usage.

What to do

Wait a few moments and refresh your page.
In most cases, the giveaway completes on its own.

10. The giveaway file is corrupted

Rarely, a giveaway project becomes corrupted due to an interrupted import.

How to fix

  • create a new giveaway
  • re-import the post
  • run the draw again

This resets the project and removes the stuck state.
