No, you cannot connect Instagram to Osortoo without Facebook.
Instagram requires a Facebook Page link to allow third-party applications to access posts and comments. The connection is mandatory because Instagram’s API works through Facebook’s system.
To use Instagram with Osortoo, you must follow the conditions below.
1. Your Instagram account must be Professional
Instagram only allows external apps to connect if the account is:
- Business
- Creator
Personal accounts are not supported.
You can check this in Instagram:
Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account
2. A Facebook Page must be linked to your Instagram account
Instagram must be linked to a Facebook Page, not a personal Facebook profile.
To verify the link:
- Open Instagram
- Go to Settings
- Open Account
- Select Sharing to other apps
- Tap Facebook
- Make sure a Facebook Page is selected
If only your personal profile appears, you must create or use an existing Page.
3. You must have Admin access to the Facebook Page
Only Page Admins can authorize Osortoo to read Instagram posts and comments.
Check your Page role:
Facebook Page → Settings → Page Roles → confirm your role is Admin
If you are not Admin, ask the Page owner to update your permissions.
4. Instagram must be selected after the Facebook Page during connection
When you connect Instagram in Osortoo:
- Select the Facebook Page linked to your Instagram account
- Then select the Instagram account connected to that Page
If you skip the Facebook Page selection, Instagram will not appear.
5. Why Facebook is required
Instagram uses Facebook’s API to provide:
- post access
- comment collection
- permissions
- account authentication
Without Facebook, Instagram cannot authorize external tools like Osortoo.
