When a giveaway project is deleted in Osortoo, the deletion is permanent. Projects cannot be restored once they are removed from your dashboard. This includes all associated data such as participants, comments, filters, winners, and draw videos.
The sections below explain what happens after deletion and what you can still do.
1. Deleted projects cannot be recovered
Deleting a project removes:
- all imported comments
- participant lists
- winner selections
- draw videos
- filters and rules
- logs and internal records
Osortoo does not store backups of deleted projects.
2. Why recovery is not possible
Giveaway projects contain sensitive user data from social platforms.
For privacy and security reasons:
- deleted data is permanently removed
- no hidden copy remains
- no server-side restore exists
This ensures that user information is not stored longer than necessary.
3. What you can still do
3.1. Re-create the giveaway
You can create a new project and import comments again if the post is still available on:
- YouTube
Re-importing allows you to run a new draw.
3.2. Re-upload your manual lists
If you previously added custom entries or uploaded Excel files, you can upload them again in the new project.
3.3. Re-generate a draw video
If you still have access to the original post or comment list, you can run the draw again in the new project.
4. How to avoid accidental deletion
- double-check before confirming deletion
- export important data (Excel) before removing a project
- download your draw video if you need a permanent copy
- keep backup copies of manual lists
These steps help preserve important information before deleting anything.
5. When to contact support
Contact support if:
- you believe the project was deleted by mistake
- a technical issue removed your giveaway
- you need help re-creating the project
Include:
- your account email
- the project name
- the platform (Facebook / Instagram / YouTube)
- the post link if available
Support can guide you through rebuilding your project.
