“Server Error” When Connecting Facebook

A “Server Error” during Facebook connection usually appears when Facebook permissions, browser settings, or session data prevent Osortoo from completing the login process. You can follow the steps below to fix the issue.

1. Refresh your Facebook login

An expired or invalid session often triggers this error.

Do the following:

  1. Log out of Facebook on facebook.com
  2. Close your browser
  3. Reopen your browser and log in again
  4. Return to Osortoo and try connecting Facebook

2. Reset the Osortoo integration on Facebook

If permissions are incomplete or outdated, Facebook may return a server error.

To reset the connection:

  1. Go to facebook.com/settings
  2. Open Business Integrations
  3. Find Osortoo
  4. Remove it
  5. Go back to Osortoo
  6. Connect Facebook again and accept all permissions

This step fixes most server-related errors.

3. Verify Page permissions

Osortoo requires full Admin access to your Facebook Pages.
If your role is not Admin, Facebook may block the connection.

Check your role:

  • Go to your Facebook Page
  • Open Settings → Page Roles
  • Confirm that your profile is Admin

If not, ask the Page owner to update your role.

4. Enable cookies and pop-ups

Facebook login cannot work if cookies are disabled.

Make sure your browser allows:

  • third-party cookies
  • pop-ups from facebook.com
  • pop-ups from osortoo.com

5. Disable interfering extensions

Extensions like ad blockers, privacy tools, VPNs, and anti-tracking plugins can block the Facebook login pop-up.

Turn them off temporarily, or use:

  • an incognito/private window
  • another browser

6. Try a different browser

If the error persists, use a recommended browser:

  • Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Edge
  • Safari

A fresh browser session resolves many login problems.

7. Check Facebook for security alerts

If Facebook detects unusual activity, it may block external connections.

Check if Facebook shows:

  • verification requests
  • identity confirmation
  • access restrictions

Complete any pending steps before reconnecting.

8. Wait and try again

Sometimes the error comes from Facebook servers.
These temporary outages usually resolve within a few minutes.

Summary

Log out and log back into Facebook, reset the Osortoo integration, verify your Page role, allow cookies, disable extensions, and try another browser. These steps resolve most “Server Error” issues when connecting Facebook.
