Multi-Platform Draws – Mixing Participants Across Platforms

Osortoo allows you to combine participants from multiple platforms into one giveaway. You can mix entries from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or manual lists to create a single draw with all participants in one place.
This is useful when your contest takes place on several platforms at the same time and all participants must have the same chance of winning.

1. Supported platforms for mixed draws

You can mix participants from:

  • Facebook Page posts
  • Instagram Professional account posts
  • YouTube public videos
  • Imported manual lists (CSV or Excel)
  • Added users (manually entered)

All sources can be brought together inside one giveaway project.

2. How to combine platforms into one draw

Step 1 — Create a new project

Start a giveaway project in your Osortoo dashboard.

Step 2 — Import participants from each source

You can add each platform one by one:

  • Facebook → Import comments from a Page post
  • Instagram → Import comments from a linked Professional account
  • YouTube → Import comments from a public video
  • Manual → Upload a CSV/Excel list or type names manually

Each import adds a new set of participants to your project.

Step 3 — Review all participants together

Once imported, Osortoo displays all participants from all platforms in a single combined list.
This list becomes the full participant pool for your draw.

3. Applying filters to mixed-platform giveaways

All filters apply across all platforms at once:

  • Remove duplicate users
  • Minimum mentions (Instagram and Facebook, depending on data)
  • Keyword include/exclude
  • Blacklist users
  • Remove empty comments (when available)
  • Filter by date/time (when available)

Osortoo identifies duplicates by username within each platform but keeps participants from different platforms separate.
Example:
“@julia” on Instagram does not conflict with “Julia Davis” in a manual list.

4. How winner selection works with mixed participants

Once all participants are combined:

  • Osortoo shuffles the entire list
  • All users from all platforms have equal chance
  • Winner(s) are chosen randomly from the full list

Winners may come from any platform, depending on your participant mix.

5. Important notes about platform limitations

Some platform rules affect what data you can mix:

Facebook

  • Only public Page posts are supported
  • Personal profile posts are not allowed

Instagram

  • You must use a Professional account
  • Instagram must be linked to a Facebook Page
  • Replies and private-account comments may not appear

YouTube

  • Video must be public
  • Comments must be enabled
  • “Made for Kids” videos are not supported

Manual entries

  • Always accepted
  • Useful for contests with offline participants or additional sources

6. Common reasons mixing doesn’t work

If participants do not appear from one platform:

  • Missing Instagram–Facebook link
  • Facebook permissions not granted
  • Wrong Page selected
  • YouTube video is not public
  • Browser pop-up or cookie blocking
  • API delays

Fixing the original import issue solves the mixing problem.

7. Why mix platforms?

Multi-platform mixing is useful for giveaways where:

  • the contest runs on multiple social networks
  • you want to centralize all entries into one fair draw
  • you need a clear, unified winner selection
  • you want to avoid running separate giveaways per platform

Osortoo handles all combined entries consistently.

Summary

Osortoo allows you to mix participants from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and manual lists into a single giveaway.
To set it up:

  1. Create a single project
  2. Import participants from each platform
  3. Apply your filters
